I think of my artwork as a conversation of unfinished dialogue consisting of fragments; form, word, and environment. I really want to acknowledge peoples’ interactions and thoughts on life as well as the person’s physical form. I feel that our perception or understanding of the world is through language and knowledge. I am drawn to text, and the power that text as a language can have. Text can alter our perception and create a further image. I rely on relationships and life experiences. Looking around at our surroundings, people come and go, weaving in and out on the paths they take, shaping our environment and experience. I am fascinated by the dialogue we share with each other and how it shapes us in such a complex way, changing and reforming us so quickly. Capturing this interaction and conversation is vital for my art. Reflecting back to when I was younger, a world which was playful gives me a sense of nostalgia and is inspiring. This inspiration is often incorporated within my work.
